When was the last time I spent the weekend with a good book? (Someone else’s book, I mean, not mine.) Looks like I’ve been too busy!
Happy Friday! Here’s hoping there’s a good book somewhere in your plans.

Encourager. Believer. Author. Teacher. Friend
I love it — my idea of big plans!! Thanks.

Hi, Pat! Yes, that’s the thing about winter here in the Pacific Northwest. It is damp and dreary, but what better environment for the fireplace and books. Thanks for stopping by.

To me, this is better than a spa day. When I can spend a weekend reading, I generally go back to books I’ve already read – my long-time friends. They never disappoint.

The reread is the supreme compliment. And also the mark of a busy person who is also an analytic. I’ve gleaned so much about storytelling from favorite authors. Because a good book is about more than one thing.

Sometimes I don’t get it all until my third read through. My favorite books have complicated plots.

As a writer of complicated books, I say thank you for noticing. I wish those kinds of stories could be written faster. Ah well. Scene by scene we progress.
