F is for Freed

Celebrating the A to Z Blogging Challenge with quotations on the writing life.

The ancients were afraid that if they went to the end of the earth
they would fall off and be consumed by dragons.
But once we understand that Christianity is true to what is there,
true to the ultimate environment—the infinite, personal God
who is really there—then our minds are freed.
We can pursue any question and can be sure that we will not fall off
the end of the earth.

Francis A. Schaeffer

Freed, what a wondrous thought.

Imagine, God wants us to think and to explore the world He designed. To ask questions and look for answers. This includes using imagination and our God-given creativity.

Ah, but often I am lazy, taking life at face value. Sighing and rolling my eyes over the daily grind. Trudging along without bothering to think or grow.

Man’s wonder grows with his knowledge.

Charles H. Spurgeon

Today, will you join me in moving beyond the obvious? Daring to truly look around and grow in wonder?
