Before Christmas was a thing …

Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
(Matthew 2:2)
Journey of the Magi by James Tissot, c. 1894

I love this image of the Magi. Oriental king-makers, seeking the One they had read about in the Jewish scriptures — which had been shared centuries earlier by the prophet Daniel. God does work in the most interesting ways!

When they saw the star, the rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.

The Magi brought gifts that were fitting for a king and of great value. I love how God sent financial provision from an unlikely and unexpected source. Egypt was in Joseph and Mary’s future, but also a successful return.

Walking with God has been and aways will be an adventure!

I hope you have a blessed and happy holiday season, friends. Thank you for your support and encouragement. Merry Christmas!
